Kathy Prokhovnik – Seeking Sydney

Friday 28th March starting 6:00 pm for 6:30 pm

In conversation with Jane Messer

Where did Sydney come from? What do we know about the shoulders we stand on? Seeking Sydney is a ten-episode podcast that looks at the people and events that have shaped modern Sydney. With themes of protest and preservation (Indigenous rights, the union movement, the environment, social justice, housing, planning), and displaced people (Indigenous people, convicts, voluntary and involuntary migrants, people displaced by ‘slum clearance’), it uses interviews and extensive research to make Sydney’s landscapes and landmarks places of connection.

Seeking Sydney is written and directed by Kathy Prokhovnik. Featuring interviews with Grace Karskens, Julie Gibson, Diane Minnis, Wendy Bacon, Gary Dunne, Bette Mifsud, Ben Ewald, Naomi Parry Duncan, Paul Irish, Matthew Doyle, John Richardson, Lucy Taksa, Joss Bell, Felicity Castagna, Deborah Lennis, Steven Penning, Jing Han. Hosted by Bronwyn Mehan at Spineless Wonders. Sound design: Martin Gallagher, Echidna Audio. Publicity: Zoe Hercus. Artwork: Bettina Kaiser.
