For 25 years Quarterly Essay has confronted and addressed many of Australia’s biggest issues with some of our nation’s best thought leaders. And Gleebooks was there from the start, helping to launch Quarterly Essay’s very first issue!

Sean Kelly is the author of The Game- A portrait of Scott Morrison, an award-winning columnist for the Nine papers and regular contributor to The Monthly and a former adviser to Labor prime ministers.

Jess Hill is an investigative journalist and the author of See What You Made Me Do and the Quarterly Essay The Reckoning. She has been a producer for ABC Radio and journalist for Background Briefing, and Middle East correspondent for The Global Mail. Her reporting on domestic abuse has won two Walkley awards, an Amnesty International award and three Our Watch awards. See What You Made Me Do won the 2020 Stella Prize and the ABA Booksellers’ Choice Adult Non-Fiction Book of the Year.

Benjamin Law is an Australian writer and broadcaster. He’s the author of The Family Law (2010), Gaysia (2013), the Quarterly Essay Moral Panic 101 (2017) and editor of Growing Up Queer in Australia (2019). Benjamin is also a playwright and AWGIE Award-winning screenwriter. He is one of Australia’s most prolific interviewers, and has written for over 50 publications in Australia and beyond. He works and lives on Gadigal Country, part of the Eora Nation (Sydney, Australia). 

Jo Dyer is a writer and literary curator, and producer of film and theatre.  She is Contributing Editor to the Chaser’s The Shot and co-hosts its weekly podcast. Her first book, Burning Down the House: Deconstructing Modern Politics, was published in February 2022 and her writing has appeared in publications including Guardian Australia, The Saturday Paper and Meanjin.Through her production company Soft Tread Enterprises, Jo has created and presented theatre projects across Australia, Europe, the US and India. She has held significant roles in the Australian cultural industry, including as Director of Adelaide Writers’ Week, CEO of Sydney Writers’ Festival, General Manager of Bangarra Dance Theatre and Executive Producer of Sydney Theatre Company. Jo is also a two-time AACTA nominee for Best Film.
