Rhyme Time

Rachel’s very popular weekday Rhyme Time for babies and toddlers is not currently running. We are waiting for the very last of our renovation-related work to finish, but intend to commence again in mid to late 2024.

For more information contact Rachel at rachel@gleebooks.com.au and be sure to follow our gleebooks_kids Instagram page where Rachel.

Story Time

For our younger book lovers Rachel hosts a free storytime every Saturday morning at 10.30am.  All ages are welcome – we’ve never grown out of picture books, and nor should you!

We sometimes have some very special guests at these free storytime sessions. See below for more details or more information contact Rachel at rachel@gleebooks.com.au and be sure to follow our gleebooks_kids Instagram page where Rachel will update you with any last minute schedule changes.

Saturday Book Clubs

Saturday Afternoon Book Clubs

Our kid’s books clubs are back! We’ll eat lots of popcorn and promote reading for pleasure. Once you attend a session and are registered you receive a book club card that entitles you to 10% off all kids books for the rest of the year.

For more information contact Rachel at rachel@gleebooks.com.au and be sure to follow our gleebooks_kids Instagram page where Rachel will update you with any last minute schedule changes.

Book clubs are broadly based on school years, run for about one hour, and we have a club suitable from kids from every school  from year 1 to year 10. You may drop in, but we do encourage you to book a spot either by emailing rachel@gleebooks.com.au.

May/June Programme

On Saturday, 4th of May at 2pm we had the Year 1 & 2 crew welcoming comedy writer and author of RoarsomeJoel Slack-Smith who ran a workshop on writing funny stories and  we attempted to write the funniest story ever.   The super dynamic David Conley ran a fun and interactive session with our Year 3/4 kids

Year 5/6 book clubbers meet on Saturday 11th of May at 3:30pm, we encourage everyone to bring along something they enjoyed reading recently so we can chat about what sort of books they would like to see chosen for the year.   Year 7/8 book clubbers are also welcome to bring along something they enjoyed on Saturday 18th of May at 3:30pm.

Year 9/10 book club will commence in June as we will be out with the Sydney Writers Festival at the end of May. The festival has so many awesome events for kids and teens, check out the line-up online or pick up a program in the shop.

For more information contact Rachel at rachel@gleebooks.com.au and be sure to follow our gleebooks_kids Instagram page where Rachel will update you with any last minute schedule or venue changes.
